Academic Standing
Greenville Technical College's academic standing policy implements a progressive support system to help students maintain good academic standing (Refer to Academic Standing in Part 3: Academic Policies of the Faculty Manual). Student cumulative grade point averages (GPAs) are updated at the end of each term. Academic standing notifications are emailed to students who are no longer in "good standing." Students are placed on notice, alert recovery, or suspension.
- Advisors must approve courses in Self Service / Student Planning for students on Academic Alert before they can register.
- Students on Academic Recovery or Suspension must contact the Center for Student Advocacy for registration. Advisors need to plan courses before sending the student to the Center for Student Advocacy.
- Students receiving financial aid should discuss possible additional consequences with the Financial Aid office.
- Students who have attempted a course twice and would like to enroll for the third time must seek approval from the department head/chair associated with the course.
