Center for Collegiate Recovery Programs

The Center for Collegiate Recovery delivers student-driven services and recovery-oriented community development for achieving collegiate health and academic excellence. Our daily vision for students practicing or seeking recovery is to experience continuous support, graduate from college, and achieve success in life.

The Center for Collegiate Recovery is committed to ensuring that students practicing or seeking recovery graduate from Greenville Technical College. All memberships with the Center for Collegiate Recovery are evaluated through a simple application process and a friendly staff/community interview.

Student membership requirements:

  1. Experience with substance use and/or mental health conditions;
  2. identify as a person in or seeking recovery;
  3. and be currently enrolled or in the process of enrolling as a student.

Alum membership requirements:

  1. Experience with substance use and/or mental health conditions;
  2. identify as a person in or seeking recovery;
  3. and a previous student of GTC.

Community Ally membership requirements:

  1. Have an interest in learning about and assisting communities with substance use and/or mental health conditions.
  2. Identify as an ally of persons in or seeking recovery, or struggling with substance use and/or mental health conditions, and
  3. Be willing to contribute to the Collegiate Recovery Community experience.

Services Provided
The following services are available to all eligible participants at no cost:

  1. Provides a unique community space for students in or seeking recovery;
  2. Student access to academic and recovery support services;
    • Recovery Coach supported study space, academic guidance, and technology resources
    • Recovery community connection
    • Recovery engagement, management, and enhancement
    • One-on-one support from Director, Recovery Services Coordinator, and Recovery Coaches
    • A continuum of recovery and clinical support via collaboration with GTC Counseling Services
  3. Student access to Peer Support Specialist and Student PSS Training:
    • Certified Peer Recovery Specialists who have experience with a mental health condition or substance use disorder.
      • They are trained, certified, and prepared to assist with recovery by helping set goals and develop strengths.
      • They provide support, mentoring, and guidance.
  4. Student Engagement Goals for participation in:
  5. Recovery coaching and advising (4 per month)
  6. Group recovery meetings (2 per month)
  7. CCR community empowerment activities (2 per semester)
  8. CCR Adventures-in-Recovery (AiR) events (2 per semester)
  9. CCR community gratitude service opportunities (2 per semester)
  10. Semester, Yearly, and Graduation Celebrations (4 per year)
