Specialized Welding Certificate in Applied Science
Program Description
Students receive training in pipe welding of large- and small-diameter pipe with various wall thicknesses.
Mission Statement
The Welding Technology program will equip graduates with knowledge and training to provide skilled support in specialized and robotic welding for the manufacturing and construction industries. Students are encouraged to stay well informed of changing technologies through continued lifelong learning.
Entrance Requirements
High school diploma or GED not required.
Student must hold Welding and Robotics Technology certificate or approved Welding certification or Department Head consent to enter the Specialized Welding program.

Requirements for Completion
A grade of “C” or higher in all courses is required.
Location
Offered at multiple locations with the exception WLD 204 Metallurgy and WLD 141 Weld Quality which is only offered online, all classes in this program are located at Greenville Tech’s Brashier Campus.
Professional Credentials
Certified Welder (subject to passing exam)
Employment Opportunities
Graduates are prepared for entry-level pipe welding and industrial welding positions in industries such as manufacturing, energy, construction, maintenance, and fabrication.
