Library Services

By delivering access to credible resources, teaching information and digital literacy skills, supporting workspace and technology needs, and providing educational services and programs, Greenville Technical College libraries are strategic partners in achieving student success.

Library Resources

GTC libraries provide physical and electronic resources to support technical college programs, courses, and operations and to foster professional development, personal growth, and lifelong learning. Students, employees, and community members may borrow library items with an active Greenville Technical College ID or free library card.

Visit http://libguides.gvltec.edu/library to search, access, and request books, eBooks, databases, articles, journals, magazines, newspapers, videos, and a variety of open educational resources (OERs). GTC username and password may be required for full access and service requests. Research guides are also available at http://libguides.gvltec.edu to help find resources for specific subjects, classes, and assignments.

Library resources can be borrowed using:

  • Campus-to-Campus Delivery: Request an item from any GTC campus library with expected delivery to your campus in 3 to 5 business days.
  • PASCAL Delivers: Request an item from other South Carolina college libraries with expected delivery to your GTC campus in 3 to 5 business days.
  • Interlibrary Loan: Request an item from other United States libraries with expected delivery to your GTC campus in 3 to 10 days.
  • Digitization: Request copyright compliant scanned portions of GTC, PASCAL, and Interlibrary Loan items delivered to your GTC email in 3 to 5 business days.
  • Visiting: GTC students and employees can borrow materials directly from most South Carolina college and university libraries as well as the Greenville County Library System. These materials can be returned at any GTC library.

When student access to a resource is limited, faculty can request that GTC library, PASCAL, and personal items be placed on course reserve with customized circulation policies.
